The following programs and schedule info are for the 11 week WINTER 2009 session (January 5th - March 23rd, 2009).

REGISTRATION BEGINS NOVEMBER 1st with early bird rates in effect until November 29th. Call for details.

 

LEVELS:

Level 1 is a basic introductory level for beginners and anyone with minimal experience in the technique ie: less than 1 year.

Level 2 is an intermediate level for those who have a strong understanding of the basics and terminology.

Level 3 is an advanced level only for experienced dancers with a strong knowledge base of the technique.

Open Level is a mixed level, normally between a level 1 & level 2, depending on the overall experience of the students in the class.

Ballet

Gain confidence, self-esteem, physical fitness and grace as you experience the delight of ballet as recreation.

  LEVEL 1: Monday 7:30-8:30 pm -or- Tuesday 7:30-8:30 pm
  LEVEL 2: Monday 8:30-9:30 pm
  LEVEL 3: Tuesday 8:30-9:45 pm

  OPEN LEVEL:  Tuesday 10:00-11:30 am -or- Thursday 10:00-11:30 am

Jazz

A high-energy class focusing on body alignment and style within the broad range of movement and music encompassed in this genre.  Both technical and fun!

Tap

A fun way to keep fit, improve coordination and beautify those gams!

  LEVEL 1: Thursday 7:30-8:30 pm

Musical Theatre


A class cobining song, dance & acting.  Tap into your inner performer!

Hiphop

The streets are the roots of this style!

Breakdance

Learn the latest in this street dance foundation!

  ADULT/TEEN LEVEL 1: Fri 5:30-6:30 pm

Modern

A contemporary dance form with roots in ballet. Different techniques are explored in this class along with development of body awareness and strength.

African

Discover the beautiful music and movement of West African culture. Also an excellent cardio workout!

  LEVEL 1: Wednesday 6:30-8:00 pm

Drumming

Learn the techniques & rhythms of West African drumming. Bring your own djembje (drum). Rentals can be arranged with Long & McQuade (245-5555).

  LEVEL 3: Friday 1:00-2:30 pm

Latin Fusion

Experience the many dance styles & rhythms of South America & the Carribean.

Indo-Jazz

"Bollywood" dance style fuses jazz, funk & east Indian dance. It's the newest dance craze!

Club Styles

Club dances everyone NEEDS to know - merengue, salsa, bachata, casino rueda and swing. Bring a partner - or not!  However, if you do register with a partner their tuition is discounted by 50%!

Flamenco

Vibrant, colorful, rhythmic dance of Spain. Ole!

Highland

Technique, theory and traditional dances of Scotland, such as the fling, broad sword and the jig are taught in this class.

Irish

Traditional dance of Ireland - just like you've seen on Riverdance!

Belly Dance

An ancient dance form rooted in the Middle East. Also called Orientale Dance. AIWA!!

Hooping


So much fun!  Just like when you were a kid only better.

Dance Intro

Ballet & Jazz based movement & rhythm for the adult dancer.

 BASIC LEVEL: Thursday 10:30-11:30 am

 

Yoga

YOGA STRENGTH Basic yoga with an emphasis on overall body strength.

  OPEN LEVEL:  Tuesday 9:00-10:00 am

 

 

Pilates

A mixing of Western and Eastern approaches to conditioning. Strength, flexibility, tone, coordination, and control are improved while releasing stress and tension.

  OPEN LEVEL: Thursday 6:30-7:30 pm

 

 

Flex & Tone

A complete body workout. Aerobic, flexibility and strength exercises combined with a yoga based cool down. Awesome!

  SELF-PACED LEVEL: Monday 5:30-6:30 pm -or- Friday 5:30-6:30 pm

 

 

Stretch & Release


A series of postures and exercises to introduce useful strengthening, release and lengthening techniques, to relax, open and rejuvenate the active body.  

 OPEN LEVEL:  Thursday 9:00-10:00 am
